Who We Are
A Mission With a Purpose
Building Futures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to solving two of Montana’s most urgent challenges: the shortage of skilled construction workers and the lack of affordable housing.
We provide hands-on vocational training that prepares young adults for rewarding careers in the trades—while directly contributing to the construction of affordable homes for local families.
It’s a win-win: our students build their skills, their futures, and their community at the same time.
What We Do
Workforce Training – We provide hands-on construction education, covering everything from carpentry and framing to electrical work, plumbing, and finishing trades.
Affordable Housing Development – Our students don’t just train—they build real homes that provide safe, stable housing for local families in need.
Community Impact – Building Futures is not just a training program—it’s a movement to strengthen communities through workforce development and housing solutions

Why It Matters
Montana Needs Builders & Housing
The Skilled Labor Shortage is Growing – The demand for new homes and infrastructure is at an all-time high, but there aren’t enough trained workers to fill available jobs.
Not Everyone Wants College – Traditional four-year degrees aren’t the right path for everyone, yet hands-on career training is limited.
Affordable Housing is Out of Reach for Many – Rising costs mean teachers, nurses, and skilled laborers struggle to find housing near their jobs.
Renters Face Instability – Many families spend more than 50% of their income on rent, leaving little for savings or emergencies.
